This policy has been updated to clarify data sharing practices with third-party AI services.

        Privacy Commitment: Opti AI is built with a "Local First" philosophy. Your physical profile data (age, height, weight) and food logs are primarily stored on your device. We only transmit specific data to third-party services when necessary to provide core app functionality, and only after obtaining your explicit permission.
    

1. On-Device Data Storage

To provide personalized fitness suggestions, Opti AI stores the following information locally on your device via Apple's secure storage frameworks:

Physical attributes (Age, Height, Weight)
Daily fitness goals and food logs

We do not maintain a central database of this personal information. It is never sold or shared with advertisers.

2. Third-Party AI Data Collection & Use

To provide nutrition analysis and personalized fitness advice, Opti AI shares specific data with Google LLC (Gemini API). Per Apple Guidelines 5.1.1(i), we disclose the following:

Data Sent: To generate accurate insights, the app transmits:
- Food Information: Text descriptions, photos of food, and photos of nutrition labels.
- Physical Profile: Gender, age, height, weight, and Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).
- Fitness Context: Current fitness goals, exercise routines, and macro targets.
- Health Data: Any additional health information you choose to provide for analysis.
Purpose: This data is sent to the AI to calculate nutritional facts (calories, macros) and generate hyper-personalized health and fitness suggestions.
User Permission: Opti AI requires your explicit consent via an in-app disclosure before any data is transmitted to the AI service.
Data Protection & Retention: Our agreement with Google Gemini ensures data is processed in a "stateless" manner. Google does not retain this data to build user profiles or train their models. We have confirmed that Google provides data protections that meet or exceed the standards outlined in this policy.

3. Anonymous Analytics & Stability

We use Google Firebase to ensure app stability and monitor general performance:

Crashlytics: If the app crashes, an anonymous technical report is generated to help us identify the cause.
Analytics: We track aggregate, non-identifiable interactions (e.g., how many users utilize the "Log Meal" feature) to improve the app. This is never linked to your personal identity.

4. Children’s Privacy

Opti AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 13.

5. Data Control & Deletion

Because your primary data is stored locally, you maintain total control. Deleting the Opti AI app from your device will permanently remove all stored data. Because we do not store your profile on our own servers, we cannot recover this data once the app is deleted.
